Capcom has announced that Dragon’s Dogma has hit the one million shipped milestone, which places the game in the “major franchise” category for the publisher. Without explicitly stating as much, there will be a sequel for Dragon’s Dogma. Capcom also noted that the game set week one sales records in Japan for a new IP released within the past 10 years

The developer of Call of Duty: Black Ops Declassified, the Vita spin-off, is apparently so unknown even Treyarch (you know, the guys behind CoD: Black Ops 2 for the PS3) haven’t got a clue. John Rafacz of Treyarch was asked by VideoGamer.com about who the developer for the Vita title was and rather succinctly stated “I don’t know.”

Kazuo Hirai announced that he will be stepping down as Representative Director and Chairman of Sony Computer Entertainment in order to take his new post of President and CEO of the entire Sony Corporation. Hirai will remain on the board of directors on a part time basis. As a parting gift, Hirai did receive a pretty nifty one-of-a-kind PlayStation 3.

This week had a lot of big news and the news staff and I found it hard to narrow it down to the usual five stories. With that in mind, we bring you, yet again, the honorable mention section: Far Cry 3 is the latest game to hop on the delay train. If you were hoping for a model of 3DS with two analogue sticks, think again.  The crew over at Epic Games has enlisted the help of Pixar for the next Gears of War game.

If you missed out on the big news items this week you can check out our weekly podcast and get an audio update of this week’s madness from our podcasting team. Listen to us as we talk about some things seriously and a few other things not so much. We guarantee this episode will make you shake your fist at times and nod your head at others. And finally, check out The Interview with Q, hosted by Matthew Quinlan.
