WoW Classic: Getting Started in the Game, Beginner’s Guide, Tutorial

New to World of Warcraft: Classic? Do not panic. If at first glance this jump back in time and anti-aliasing seems abrupt, we get used to it, even having fun! This guide is not intended to be exhaustive, it is there to guide your first steps in the right direction only.

Choose Your Class

You will be spending a significant number of hours on your character. Playing a class that you like is going to be essential. Besides your taste, some classes are easier to learn than others or even more useful.

WoW Classic: It’s D-Day! Which Class to Choose?

If you are more of the undecided type, do not hesitate to raise all the characters a little in the first levels in order to avoid the temptation of the unknown when you come across another class. However, it is more advisable to focus on a single character in order to really see a breakthrough. Classic is long, doing the same quests 8 times between level 5 and 15 may not be the fun for too long.

Choose Your Race

Here, two elements weigh in the balance; your look, and your optimization. If you are playing a DPS class, the Tauren racials will be of little use to you. Orcs or Trolls on the other hand can be very interesting … Having said that, you might just love to look like a big angry cow. In this case, weigh the pros and cons between “being pretty” and “being opti“. World of Warcraft Classic offers a number of races that you can choose from for your adventure.

Really, take 4 seconds (while running to your next destination) to read the quest you just picked up. Already because sometimes it will be next to you and you will already be running in the wrong direction, and then because it is essential to know what to do and where. Which brings us to our second point

Optimize Your Time According to Your Goals

If you go to an area, try to complete as many objectives as possible, whether these relate to quests, professions, bosses, whatever. On Classic, you are slow. VERY SLOW. You don’t want to spend 5 minutes on an auto run to get back to an area because you forgot 4 dandelions. Especially since on Classic all the quests will not be enough to make you go up in level, it will be necessary to type stupidly on the monsters too. So we don’t waste quests or time, because wasting time is potentially losing money, which brings us to our third point.

Gold Coins are the Sinews of War

No more easy farming, items that sell for the price of a flask and WQs that can always bail you out a bit. On Classic, you are Azeroth’s yellow vest, on display from the 10th of the month. Don’t buy just anything, really. Buy such weapon? Are you sure we won’t drop one soon in a quest? Do you really need this spell? Is it more profitable to sell this item as is, or rather to disenchant it?

You’re only going to have a few gold coins, keep them and don’t invest them anywhere (especially if you’re hoping for a mount someday).

Choose a Profession According to Your Needs

You will be able to exercise 5 different professions; cooking, fishing, first aid and two additional trades of your choice. These trades will allow you to make some reserves of gold coins for little investment or large profits in return for significant playing time. They will also allow you to save a few coins depending on the profession by crafting your own items.

Choose with importance your two additional professions according to your needs, objectives and playing habits. And speaking of objective, here is our last point.

Set Goals and Progress in Stages

To successfully complete your adventure, it is really essential to know what you want to do. Although this advice may sound silly, it is actually very important if you are new to Classic. You MUST know what to expect, set goals for yourself to achieve your goal, and progress step by step. It will be easier if you use the wow classic power leveling service.

Your main danger in Classic that could prevent you from completing your adventure? It’s you. Classic is not a sprint, but a marathon. Adapt your speed to your desires, keep your final goal in sight and progress at your own pace while having fun in the game, that’s the most important.
