Ubisoft released Immortals Fenyx Rising on December 3rd. The game seems to have garnered a lot of positive reviews despite its similarity to other titles. The title sees the protagonist travel through a territory divided into 7 macro areas inspired by Greek mythology. The gameplay is also inspired by that of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and that of Assassin’s Creed Odyssey. In the game, you will be able to make use of various types of weapons. Take note that for each type (sword, axe, and bow), you will have the same amount of base damage. Each weapon has its own attack skill set that makes them more powerful. Here is my Immortals Fenyx Rising weapons guide.
GETTING YOUR FIRST WEAPONS
In Immortals Fenyx Rising’s prologue, you will get your very first weapons. You will receive a sword for light attacks, an axe for heavy attacks, and a bow for ranged attacks. Every weapon you encounter will be of one of these types. Take note that all weapons have 2 skills. The first is always activated when the weapon is equipped. The other is activated by bringing it up to level 4 by spending the adamantine at the Forge of Hephaistos in the Hall of the Gods.
Thanks to these skills, some weapons will be more powerful than others. It will also give the possibility of obtaining a great variety of attack if combined in synergy in the right way. The simple part is that all of these are located in the same area. This area is called the Valley of Eternal Spring and is available as soon as the prologue is over.
DEPARTED SHADE
Swords have the advantage of attacking faster and also fill the stamina bar with each hit on your enemy. Therefore, it’s useful to use them as a cover strategy in case you run out of stamina after axe attacks and using divine powers. In other words, use your sword mostly as a backup. The best sword in Immortals Fenyx Rising is called the Departed Shade.
The peculiarity of the latter consists in increasing the damage for a limited period of six seconds immediately after a perfect dodge. Additionally, you get 2 Orb Stamina with every Sword Sprint Attack. Fortunately, this blue sword is very easy to get. All it takes is to beat the enemies guarding the chest southwest of the Hall of the Gods. Take note that you can easily locate it by just looking at your map.
FORBIDDEN LABRYS
The Immortals Fenyx Rising weapons guide would not be complete without the all powerful axe. Axes, despite being slower, do both more damage and more stun damage with immediate effect. Take note that axes are very useful against larger enemies and bosses. The best axe in Immortals Fenyx Rising is called the Forbidden Labrys. Like the Departed Shade, there is an increase in damage for six seconds following, this time, a perfect parry.
When you reach Level 4, the stun damage on your axe will increase with every Axe Counter Attack. In my honest opinion, I think this is the best weapon in the game. Axe Counter Attack is also probably the most powerful skill to have in the game. If you love and are very good with parries, you will probably have victory in your pocket with this weapon.
You will always find the Forbidden Labrys in the Valley of Eternal Spring, in the protected chest on the east coast. You can’t miss it! The latter in turn is near another Epic chest and a small amount of Ambrosia that you can collect when reaching the designated area. Take note that you can easily locate it by just looking at your map.
RESISTANCE BOW
Bows are your primary asset for deploying long range attacks to your enemies. In Immortals Fenyx Rising, you can hit with three types of attacks. The first is a light attack, which is obtained with a quick blow. The second attack is much heavier, with a charged blow. The third attack is called Apollo’s Arrow.
The latter consists of an arrow that you can direct once fired. The strongest bow in the game is called Resistance. This purple bow can increase Charged Hit Damage to 150 Stun damage. It also instantly eliminates weaker enemies. When you reach level 4, it is also possible to freeze enemies for five seconds after a headshot. In short, the Resistance bow is useful for interrupting enemy routines and freezing them.
This is particularly effective against flying enemies. In my opinion, this is the third best weapon in Immortals Fenyx Rising. You can find the bow near the Departed Shade, this time on an islet directly south of the Hall of the Gods. Take note that you can easily locate it by just looking at your map.
PHOSPHOR TYPES
Now that we went through the three best weapons in the game, I decided to include Phosphor in this guide. If you haven’t unlocked Phosphor yet, just complete the Bolt from the Blue side-quest. You can activate this after having climbed the statue of Aphrodite from which you can observe the entire valley. This is a beautiful view!
Phosphor types are unlocked by defeating legendary monsters throughout the golden island. The best in this case is Phosphor the Lovebird. Take note that you can get this by beating the legendary boar near the cabbage puzzles. Beware of the legendary boar, as he has some nasty attacks. Take note that you can easily locate it by just looking at your map.
