As with all Nintendo consoles, couch co-op is going to be a huge facet of the Nintendo Switch. Announced tonight is an interesting take on co-op with their new Joy-cons: 1, 2 Switch. This is looking to be a launch game for the new console and has some very different mini games than what we are used to seeing. We all saw the wild west showdown game, but it looks like there is an eating game, some sword play, ping pong and even what looked to me as a drinking game.
All of this is possible due to the fact that the Joy-Cons have HD Rumble which will allow a more precise sense of motion. The Joy-con will now be able to measure distance much easier. Hence why the sandwich eating mini-game looks like it is time to be a glutton with your friends if you can’t out-shoot them. What makes this title different from earlier Nintendo couch co-op games is the fact that you can actually face your opponent. No longer will you stare at the screen as you crush your best friend, you can look them right in the eye and see their shame as you score the final point in ping pong. 1, 2 Switch will be available on March 3, 2017 so that you and your friends can shoot at each other without actually getting hurt.
