The PlayStation Booth at this weekend’s PAX East convention has the new Nathan Drake adventure, Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End‘s Plunder Mode demo available to play.
If you are unfamiliar with Plunder Mode, it’s similar to Capture the Flag. Instead of trying to obtain the flag, you want to grab the idol and bring it back to your home-base’s treasure chest to claim it. Plunder Mode can be played on three maps that were previously seen in Uncharted 4’s beta: Island, Madagascar City and the Rooftops maps.
The developers at Naughty Dog have made updates to the Plunder Mode in comparison to the Uncharted 2 and Uncharted 3 counterparts. Plunder Mode will now be four vs four (instead of the previous five vs five). Players can now also travel with the idol instead of having to always throw it to a player in order to get the idol to the team’s treasure chest.
The PlayStation Blog post written by Uncharted 4’s lead game designer, Robert Cogburn, said “[w]e still have so much to share with our fans that have been waiting a long time to hear more about multiplayer. The reveal of Plunder is just another piece. Let me assure you, what we will be revealing soon after PAX East will please a lot of people.” What will this last piece of the multiplayer aspect of Uncharted 4 be?
