Mario Kart 8 Deluxe for Nintendo Switch is being released on April 28th.
Mario Kart 8 was originally released on the Wii U system only three years ago and now the deluxe edition is coming to the latest Nintendo console. This home console and handheld hybrid is the absolute perfect platform for Mario Kart. Looking at this overview trailer above, Switch players will be able to experience incredible Mario Kart action wherever they happen to be at the moment. As long as the group has four separate controllers, four players can play with or against each other while using only one Switch system. However, if a full LAN party is more your style, up to twelve players can race or battle while using multiple Switch units.
This Deluxe edition of the game will include all characters tracks, modes, and DLC from the original Wii U version. Yet, this time Inkling Girl, Inkling Boy, Dry Bones and Bowser Jr. are coming to the tracks which ups the number of playable racers to 42 characters. Some new karts are also included that allow players to hold two items at once.
Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is releasing in retail stores and the eShop on April 28th for $59.99. For those who prefer to use the traditional Mario Kart wheel, Nintendo is offering a Joy-Con Wheel Accessory that will be sold in pairs for $14.99.
