The Story Goes On, an action-packed hack and slash puzzle adventure from developers Scarecrow Arts, has been announced for Xbox One. Alongside KISS Publishing Limited, the developers have announced that the game is set to leave Steam Early Access.
The game launched onto Steam Early Access in 2015 and has seen an array of updates and new features, including new environments, bosses, and puzzles, as well completely revamped textures, and an updated HUD. Speaking about the move out of Early Access, as well as the move onto Xbox One, Scarecrows Arts CEO Malcolm Smith said:
“The Story Goes On has always been a hugely ambitious project, and the Early Access community have been incredibly helpful in refining our vision. What makes this game so special is the ability for each player to experience something truly unique, from the soundtrack, to the environments to the combat and puzzles, everyone’s story will be theirs alone.”
The game is a beautifully designed tale set in an endless maze known as ‘The Odyssey’ where each player can experience their own unique journey. Now, on Xbox One, players can traverse The Odyssey in a co-op mode with friends, though it’s unconfirmed whether or not this will continue over onto PC. Speaking about the move onto console, as well as the full release on Steam, Co-Founder and CEO of KISS Publishing Ltd Darryl Still commented:
“We’re so thrilled with the evolution of the Story Goes On. It’s unlike anything we’ve published before and is our first title to come to console. We know Xbox and PC players are going to love their individual adventure.”
The game is currently set to be released on Xbox One and PC on February 14 for $7.99. Currently, there are no details on whether or not it will be coming to PlayStation 4 or other devices. The game is still currently available on Steam Early Access.
