When the world is ending three things come to mind for developers Studio Sai, scavenging, dungeon crawling and dating. These three things blend together to create Eternights, an action adventure dating sim that takes inspirations from the likes of Devil May Cry and Boyfriend Dungeon.
While trying to save the world from an unknown entity that has begun to turn humans into flesh consuming monsters, players will be able to spend their free time growing closer to a cast of five quirky and loveable characters, from your best friend Chani to an idol popstar named Yuna.
The story is told using a mixture of fully voiced in-game graphics and fully animated 2D cutscenes, as the player progresses through the story they will have to make key decisions with how they utilize their time, because there are only a few days before the world could possibly end and your team must face the clock.
Dungeons are known as the “Wall” in Eternights and they are filled with mystery and danger. Players will have to quickly overcome traps, puzzles, and dancing minigames in order to make it through and continue their romantic apocalyptic adventure. Some of the decisions players make will help the protagonist character grow closer to their confidant to help deepen their relationship and unlock new skills, or they can scavenge the wasteland for supplies, or grow stronger by training with their companions, or you can ignore all of that and go to the dungeon the first chance you get.
Eternights is set to release on Playstation 4, Playstation 5, Steam, and the Epic Games Store on September 12th for $29.99 USD for the standard edition and $39.99 USD for the PC exclusive Deluxe Edition.
