Below are both the US & UK eShop charts for the beginning of this week. Whilst I’ve always found taking a look at the eShop charts interesting this week something struck me… where are the digital downloads which Nintendo are pushing so heavily even to the point of having them release at midnight as they did with Professor Layton and the Miracle Mask.
I would assume that the prices for said digital downloads are the main reason for this. In the UK we would need to pay £39.99 for a digital download where the majority of stores usually sell new releases between £24.99-£29.99. Nintendo simply has to reduce its prices if it wants this ‘digital future’ idea to work in the long-term.
