A nice chunk of time has passed since Square Enix first revealed Murdered: Soul Suspect. After a relatively brief silence from the title, it has returned with a new trailer and some details regarding the story that gives us just enough to be interested to see more.
Murdered: Soul Suspect puts players into the shoes of Salem, MA detective Ronan O’Conner. One of those detectives that often gets himself in a lot of trouble and ends up losing his life because of it. Unlike other detectives though, O’Conner winds up in Dusk (this game’s version of limbo) and his only way to find peace and move on is to find the man responsible for his murder; a man who is said to be both brutal and relentless.
Being a spirit without a body to slow him down, Ronan will be able to freely explore Salem’s many wooden houses, narrow streets, gothic churches and mental asylum for clues and other information that may aid him in his attempt to discover who killed him. He’ll also have to fight off demonic spirits to save his soul, presumably because the guilty spirits don’t want a dead, nosey detective sniffing around.
