Far Cry Primal has been quickly making waves as something fresh from Ubisoft, even in just its decision to change the setting for the series. Ubisoft has released a trailer for the new game, and it does not flinch in showing some “brutal savagery” and crazy encounters. Coming to PS4, Xbox One and PC, the trailer introduces a lot of the story that players will be following in their time in Oros.
The trailer introduces Ull and his Udam tribe – cannibal warriors that are threatening the land of Oros and the Wenja tribe. It looks like the Udam and Izilia tribe (led by a high priestess named Batari) will be the main antagonists of the Wenja tribe which players will attempt to lead to survival in Oros. The trailer also showcases a lot of the brutal animal encounters that players will face as Takkar, the protagonist of the story for Far Cry Primal.
A lot of what is shown here in the trailer and story still seems very Far Cry – a protagonist that helps a group of people survive and take back a land that has been overrun by malicious leaders and their henchmen. Despite the similarities, Primal looks to be taking things in a much more violent and grim path that will be filled with much of the insanity and eccentricity that players have come to expect from the Far Cry franchise.
Far Cry Primal will be released on February 23rd, 2016 for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, and on March 1st, 2016 for Windows PC.
