The fighting game market is fairly crowded right now, which is far from a bad thing considering the lack of options we faced not long ago. Tekken, Street Fighter, Soul Calibur, Injustice, Pokken Tournament, Marvel vs. Capcom, SNK’s upcoming Switch and PS4 fighter Heroines, and a rash of other fighters are giving gamers plenty of fantastic choices. King of Fighters XIV has a solid following and a huge roster already – but come April, expect four more fighters to enter the fray. Oswald, a fan favorite since KoF XI is coming back and from the teaser trailer, he looks to carry on the style that made him so popular from the start.
We still have another three fighters to be announced which will bring the roster up to a whopping 58 characters. From the press release, it sounds like this isn’t the final stop for KoF XIV in 2018 either. We may see even more evolution to the title throughout the year.
King of Fighters XIV released Aug. 23rd of 2016 to mostly positive reviews. While some may miss the sprite-based artwork, the transition to 3d models has been received with praise by most. The game is currently available on PS4 and PC. What do you think, are we going to see more popular fighters showing up soon, or possibly guest characters? Will SNK follow Ubisoft and Square Enix’s play of crossovers? What characters do you want to see? Let us know – maybe we will even reach out and try to get answers if you are good.
