Animal Crossing New Horizons launched last friday. And since then, we’ve been playing the game and you can check out our first impressions of it here. But apparently New Horizons players can expect some updates in April that will bring some events to the game.
Given the game keeps track of time even when you’re not playing it, it makes it the perfect game for seasonal content. So it’s pretty exciting to hear that Nintendo are planning two upcoming updates to the game.
Bunny Day Event
The first event will come April 1st-12th and is an Easter themed event. Though Nintendo are of course calling it the Bunny Day event, to avoid any religious connotations. It will see the arrival of Zipper the Bunny who will hide eggs all over the island for you to find. It seems you can then collect these eggs and even use them to craft unique items.
Given we’re still only in the first season of Animal Crossing (in a literal sense), it’s pretty exciting to see Nintendo doing unique seasonal events for the game. And it makes us wonder what they could be bringing down the line. Perhaps we’ll see a spooky Halloween event in October? Or a present-filled Christmas event in December?
Earth Day Event
Coming later in April is the Earth Day event, which will be added in a later update. Details on this event have yet to be officially revealed. But it’s still pretty awesome that we are getting two free content updates so soon after the game’s release.
And seasonal content is always fun for those wishing to celebrate Easter on their new island. It might make it an Easter Island if you will.
If you want more bad puns, definitely check out the game. And expect a full review coming later in April. Now it’s back to the island life as I need to craft items for the houses I’m building. See you!
