New information regarding amiibo is here. The first amiibo set is being released on the market in time for Santa to deliver them for Christmas. With the success of Skylanders, Nintendo is heading in the direction of video game playable figures. Amiibo are compatible with several games but the first set is intended for Super Smash Bros.
They can be used for the 3DS version later in 2015. Other announced amiibo compatible games are Mario Kart 8, Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker, Mario Party 10 and Yoshi’s Woolly World. Only 10 figures have been shown to the public but there is a chance of a couple more appearing on the shelves this holiday season. These amiibo look like beautifully crafted works of art to the eye of a serious Nintendo collector. Amiibo in Super Smash Bros can be trained into a fierce alley or competitor. They can be used against each other to see who is the strongest while you sit back and watch. Your amiibo can be summoned during a match to help you win against a friend. However, are these reasons enough to purchase one or more figures? It looks like amiibo are more of a physical form of DLC than an aide to Super Smash Bros. Nintendo fans will just have to wait six more months to find out!
