Stoic and Versus Evil has announced the Banner Saga 2 Switch release date. Players have been expecting the game on Nintendo Switch for months, and they won’t have to wait much longer. The game is an emotionally charged sequel as you shoulder increasing responsibility for the survival of your clan in the face of immense grief.
The news comes in the middle of a busy few months for the series.
Award-Winning Series
The announcement comes a month after the first game landed on the console. Steve Escalante, General Manager of Versus Evil, spoke about the release, saying:
“We are proud to launch Banner Saga 2 on Nintendo Switch, hot on the heels of the launch of the first game, The Banner Saga last month. There has never been a better time to get into this awarding winning series. Strategy and RPG Nintendo Switch fans will get the opportunity to play through the entire saga, from start to finish, this Summer when the third and final chapter Banner Saga 3 releases. Playing this game on the Nintendo Switch is truly a joy, allowing you to play whenever and wherever you can.”
The news also comes ahead of the Banner Saga 3‘s worldwide release later this year. Banner Saga 3, the third and final installment of the mature-themed role-playing strategy series will launch on July 26. This will be available on a number of different platforms.
Banner Saga 2 Switch Release Date
The game introduces a new race to the series, the legendary horseborn. This is a centaur-like race which enhances combat and adds another layer of intrigue to the story. The Banner Saga 2 Switch release date is set for June 7. Banner Saga 3 will launch on Switch, PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4. Mobile versions will be available at a later date. However, this date is still unconfirmed.
