Bastion developer, Amir Rao from Supergiant Games, has revealed that the critically acclaimed indie title Braid has achieved sales figures of 1.7 million units across all platforms in which it is available to purchase.
Upon closer examination of these figures, Amir Rao stated that over 90% of all sales came after the game’s original launch month on XBLA during the summer of 2011.
The developer went on and was quoted to say:
“We didn’t lose an opportunity by not sim [simultaneously] shipping.”
As Gamespot, our source for this story, notes, Bastion was Supergiant Games’ first project and was released as an XBLA indie title during July 2011 before being released on Steam, the Mac App Store, Google Chrome and most recently iOS devices.
