The Dark Knight’s career has been at its brightest in the wake of the Arkham video game series. The Arkham universe will now be coming to the small screen in an all new way new in Warner Bros. next animated movie tie-in of Batman: Assault on Arkham.
As is custom, something stinks in Gotham City, this time quite literally. Set between Batman: Arkham Origins and the original Batman: Arkham Asylum game, the Joker (Troy Baker) has hidden a dirty bomb somewhere in the crime-ridden metropolis, and Batman (Kevin Conroy) is the only thing between it and millions of lives. Enter the Suicide Squad: a highly armed, highly deadly assault team assigned to target both Batman and the Joker alike.
A longtime staple in the Batman mythos, the Suicide Squad is an elite force of criminals tasked by the government to take on targets no ordinary soldier could. Deadshot, Harley Quinn, Killer Frost, King Shark, and Captain Boomerang are just a few of the villains to join the crew in Assault on Arkham, though noticeably absent is Deathstroke, whose recruitment was only teased in Origins.
As of now, Assault on Arkham has no release date, but with Rocksteady Studios’ Batman: Arkham Knight pending release on new-generation consoles and PC, fans should no doubt get their hands on it soon.
