Battlefield 1 is very much a buzz game right now, welcoming people back into the open arms of early 20th century combat and less modern warfare. When Battlefield 1 launches, it will include Britain, Germany, United States, Italy, the Austro-Hungarian Empire and the Ottomans. While this is a hearty lineup of military might, there do seem to be a few armies missing, and EA has revealed that France will be the first premium DLC release for Battlefield 1.
A DICE employee revealed in a recent interview that they acknowledged the contribution that France had made to the battle and that was why they weren’t included right at launch. It’s interesting to see that the DLC launches at least at first won’t be by battle or region, but by army. Hopefully each army adds some more depth in regards to their weapons, vehicles and soldier abilities. The Russian empire is also missing, so it would make sense that if they will be launching the French first, then the Russians should follow after.
Where DICE chooses to take the game after that will be interesting to say the least. Perhaps with each DLC we will also see a new map or two in a key location that the armies fought in. For more news about Battlefield 1, check out our coverage here.
