During one of Double Fine’s “Devs Play” episodes, Beyond Good & Evil creator Michel Ancel said that the sequel is still going forward.
After playing through the game for an hour – and also giving some interesting commentary on the original game – Michel said, “Yeah, but it’s difficult because we do the same kind of game two times, so we always want to do something different.” He then asked about Schafer’s approach with Psychonauts 2 and if he was sticking to the main structure. Schafer said that “We add new things, we add new twists to it. I feel like I didn’t know what I was doing with the first one. I think I know what I’m doing now.I can finally do it. I can do it well.”
Beyond Good & Evil 2 was first announced with a trailer all the way back in 2008 (almost 8 years ago) at Ubidays, and all we have seen since is a concept art of Jade during a Rayman Legends live stream, a leaked concept trailer and art that was shown during a conference.
Editorial Note: Let’s hope we get to see the game at E3 this year rather than another Tom Clancy game!
