It’s safe to say that you’ll have a lot more to say than Gordon Freeman in Fallout 4. As it so happens, your character will be talking their ear off – 13,000 lines worth of talking, that is.
Speaking with VG24/7, Fallout 4 director Todd Howard claimed that the cast of the game recorded over 13,000 lines of dialogue over the span of two years, including everything down to your protagonist’s gender.
As it was revealed this past E3, your character, the Sole Survivor of Vault 111, can be male or female depending on your choice at the game’s beginning. The characters will reportedly respond in the manner of their given gender as a man or woman would respond to various situations.
By contrast, Xenoblade Chronicles X‘s Koh Kojima said that his game recorded over 11,000 lines of dialogue. As the sequel to 2011’s Xenoblade Chronicles, the Nintendo open-world JRPG is no shortie by any means, as Kojima’s claimed the game will take at least 300 hrs. to beat in full. If the number of lines here are any indication, Fallout 4‘s a mighty long one too.
