It’s the 10 year anniversary of the original Dead Rising, and Capcom is making a big deal out of it. Dead Rising 4 will be released on December 6th, 2016, but for those who want to relive the original two games in the series, they can on September 13th. Dead Rising, Dead Rising 2, and Dead Rising 2: Off The Record will all be making their way onto PS4 and Xbox One digitally on the 13th. You can check out screenshots of the games below:
All three games will be upgraded to 1080p at 60 fps to justify their move to the new systems. A couple of the titles will also be available physically. The original game will be released on September 13th both physically and digitally for PS4 and Xbox One, and a Steam release will also happen that day. Dead Rising 2 will be released physically two weeks later for PS4 and Xbox One. This marks the first time the original Dead Rising has been on a Sony platform, as well as the first time it has been available on PC. Each game will retail at $19.99, or you can buy the Dead Rising Triple Pack for $49.99 which includes all three games in one.
It is worth noting that Dead Rising 3 is naturally left out of this because it was a launch title for Xbox One and was published by Microsoft. I am personally curious to see whether my nostalgia for the original game still holds up after all these years. Will I get annoyed with the time constraints still? Probably. But I also never got a chance to play the second game, or Off the Record, so I would love to jump into those and see how they were.
Dead Rising 4 will be released later this year on December 6th for Xbox One and Windows 10.
