From Polish Developer The Moonwalls and publisher Ultimate Games comes an announcement of the game Commander ’85. It’s a brand-new title that combines elements of adventure, retro science-fiction thrillers, survival games, and hacker simulators. The game is due out in Fall 2020.
Currently, a Kickstarter campaign, seeking CA$8,000 in funding, is live. While Commander ’85 is “funded and mostly finished”, the developers have said that the campaign is primarily to “expand the scope of the project” with additional features. One such feature would be the future addition of virtual reality (VR) features.

Commander ’85’s Premise
The game takes place in Chicago, 1985, and on the player’s birthday. Upon receiving a gift named after the game’s title, things change. Before long, military experiments start to get out of control, nuclear war is not far away.
You aren’t alone, and with your friends and a crazy scientist, the player is tasked with trying to end the Cold War. Along the way, they’ll be discovering the Commander computers’ secrets and finding the truth behind the Roswell Incident.
The fate of the world lies in an advanced interaction system with the computer’s AI. The player can build its trust in the computer, listen to its sarcastic comments and even argue with your parents. Hundreds of possibilities and elements exist, leading to a unique play experience every single time as you progress to one of the three endings.
The player spends their time in 1980s America, in the lives of Polish immigrants. Daily life is integrated into the game, such as going to school, doing chores, and nagging from your parents. On that note, you should do your chores, because it could potentially prevent you from saving the world if not done.
Commander ’85 will be due out this fall. You can view its Kickstarter info here, and its Steam page here.
