Yakuza 6: The Song of Life is coming fairly soon to PlayStation 4, and with it will be a slew of minigames. One that wasn’t featured in the last trailer for the game was one of the more exciting features: clan battles. Players will be able to create their own clan of fighters and take them out to the streets to incite mayhem. You can watch a trailer for the new feature above.
As you play through Yakuza 6, Kiryu will gather recruits for his clan and players will be able to choose who joins them as they take on the “Powerful Six Lunatics” in offline battles, or prove their worth online against other clans. Losing fights doesn’t necessarily mean a complete loss, either, as players will gain experience and know what to expect the next time they go back into the streets.
It looks like clans will have codes as well, as the trailer above features a handful, allowing players to download clans for their clan creator. It’ll be interesting to see how many clans just consist of legendary Yakuza characters as Sega promises a bunch of famous characters from the Yakuza lore.
Regardless, Yakuza 6: The Song of Life is really shaping up to be just as great, if not better than Yakuza 0. The addition of a clan creator minigame really matches the aesthetic of the Yakuza universe and will add hours of more content to what will probably be a very lengthy experience.
Yakuza 6: The Song of Life releases on March 20th, 2018 for PlayStation 4. Let us know in the comments if you’re excited for the clan creator and if you’ll be picking up the game when it launches.
