Erased has begun to air in Japan this winter and the anime series has a unique story befitting the main character who has a strange ability.
The trailer posted on Crunchyroll’s YouTube channel focuses on Satoru Fujinuma’s odd ability called Revival. Satoru struggles as a mangaka (manga-artist) and as a person with the unique talent of being sent back in time to stop an event that threatens a person’s life. Satoru’s Revival normally only sends him a minute or a few minutes back in time to stop someone from dying or becoming seriously injured. The process keeps happening until the tragedy is erased, hence the anime’s title. Revival happens automatically for him, as if someone is making Satoura erase the tragic events. Yet one day it takes Satoru much father back than a mere few moments.
One incident ends up costing Satoru greatly and instead of giving him a few minutes to fix the event, he is sent 18 years into his past. Now he must figure out how to stop the series of events that guided him to his future. The above trailer also features Erased’s opening theme song “Re:Re” by Asian Kung-Fu Generation. Erased is being simulcasted on Thursdays at 12:30 pm EST or 9:30 am PT. You can watch and keep up with Satoru’s struggle to make things right for himself in Erased at Crunchyroll.
