Right, nice little round-up of some new Dark Souls II information for you all. First off the bat is news that Namco Bandai Games and Dark Souls developers, From Software have decided to work with some top-end comic writers and artists to produce and exclusive graphic novel for Dark Souls II. The comic, titled Dark Souls II: Into The Light and takes place in the thrilling universe of the game. The story is written by Rob Williams and Andi Ewington with art provided by Simon Coleby.
Rob Williams is an acclaimed British-based comic book writer whose credits include Ghost Rider, Daken, Amazing Spider-Man, The Dark X-Men, Star Wars Tales and the 2013 British Comic Award nominated Judge Dredd: Trifecta. Simon Coleby is also a British comic book artist who has worked for Marvel and 2000 AD. His credits include creating art for Judge Dredd and Rouge Trooper. He also worked on Judge Dredd: Trifecta with Rob Williams. Andi Ewington is an up-and-coming writer whose breakthrough debut novel won critical acclaim from reviewers and fans alike, and has recently claimed a #1 Amazon UK Kindle Superhero bestseller spot.
Dark Souls II: Into the Light will offer an extended experience to hardcore fans and newcomers in the Dark Souls II universe and will be available Early January 2014.
Next up is some important pre-order information. You may remember the news regarding the Collectors Edition and Black Armour Edition of the game ( if you don’t then refresh your memory here). Namco Bandai has confirmed that both editions will ONLY be available through pre-ordering and not in retail. This means that the Standard version will be the only version to hit shelves March 2014 and if you want a heap of exclusive goodies such as a Warrior Knight model or limited edition steel case, you better get pre-ordering.
Finally, if you’re heading to MCM London Expo (October 25th and 26th) then you’ll have a chance to get your mitts on Dark Souls II and face the Mirror Knight to try and bag some awesome prizes.
