It has been announced that Dark Souls has sold more than 2.3 million units to date across available platforms, meaning it’s been a huge success, especially considering that it is a relatively new IP (but we already knew all this didn’t we!?).
The game originally launched worldwide in October 2011 on the PlayStation 3 and came to the Xbox 360 in August 2012, receiving a special edition and expansion pack in the process.
This brings the various versions of Dark Souls sold to around 2,367,000 units whilst around 692,000 units were the “Prepare To Die” Edition.
