When the going gets tough–and by tough, I mean your precious Florida has been overrun by zombies–the tough get going to Ontario, Canada, and that’s exactly what you’ll be doing in UKIYO Publishing’s Death Road To Canada when it releases this Spring.
UKIYO Publishing, a London-based independent video game publisher in partnership with Rocketcat Games and Madgarden, is releasing their zombie-filled, randomly generated road trip game on PS4, Xbox One and Switch with packed in two-player couch co-op, something Rocketcat Games Co-Founder, Kepa Auwae, is very proud to make happen.
“With the Nintendo Switch’s Joy-Con controllers and the promise of couch play on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, we’re proud to share the console experience of Death Road to Canada with players across the world,” Auwae said.
Auwae believes the game to be great both alone and with a friend but expects players to approach it differently based on how their playing.
“Single player is great of course, but the local co-op mode brings a slower, more tactical pace to the game,” Auwae said.
As players make their way from Florida to Ontario–where it’s possible that the threat of zombies is non-existent–they’ll encounter sites such as Y’all-Mart and the Muscle! Bomb!! Gym!!! on Death Road, while carving a path through hordes of gruesome pixel-art zombies. During all of this, players will find themselves crafting a different narrative each road trip, due in thanks to the game’s randomly generated interactions and stories, something UKIYO Publishing calls “Interactive Fiction.”
When you’re not making or breaking friendships or swerving your way through character-drama, UKIYO Publishing promises brutal, hyper-violent combat and over-the-top loot.
Although no set date has been given, UKIYO Publishing expects Death Road To Canada to release this Spring. Stay tuned to Bago Games for more information.
