December 2017’s Games With Gold for Xbox users has been announced. Four titles are available throughout the month, including a title from Warhammer and a Telltale Series game. Starting Friday, December 1, Xbox One owners will be able to download Warhammer: End Times – Vermintide throughout the month. Starting December 16 through January 15, TellTale Games’ Back to the Future: The Game – 30th Anniversary Edition becomes available. From December 1-15, Child of Eden is available for Xbox 360 owners. For the second half of the month, Marlow Briggs and the Mask of Death is free to download.
We gave Warhammer: End Times – Vermintide an 8/10 praising its gorgeous visuals and the challenging, addictive combat. The major knocks against it being the difficulty curve and the dice rolls for loot being unlucky. As for Back to the Future: The Game, I can personally recommend this one. If you are a big fan of the movies and the style of gameplay Telltale is known for, this is right up your alley. While it might not be the strongest Telltale game, it does feel like a fourth chapter in the BTTF franchise.
Child of Eden is a “music action game that adapts to your playstyle”. It’s a game that takes cues from Rez, in terms of the visuals and gameplay. Marlow Briggs and the Mask of Death is a third-person action adventure which “pays homage to action movies and comic heroes”. While I’ve never played either of these games, they do look pretty interesting.
Overall, it looks like a pretty good lineup for Xbox owners, both current and last generation owners. There’s a good mix of styles of games to play if you like the variety of games to play. Do you recommend any of these games? Let us know what you think of December’s Games With Gold in the comment section below.
