Having been a huge fan of Divinity: Original Sin, I was excited to start my first PAX West adventure by meeting with the team behind Divinity: Original Sin 2. Their booth was already buzzing when I arrived. All demo PCs were occupied, and a line of waiting players looped around the outside of the booth. Fans were eager to try the features of the new game. The Divinity: Original Sin 2 development team has doubled the amount of skills and spells available to players. They’ve more than quadrupled their writing staff to make sure the story and dialogue is as strong as possible. They’ve introduced Undead characters who heal from poison and are damaged by traditional healing spells. Larian Studios listened carefully to their fans and have created a unique, powerful gaming experience.
In Divinity: Original Sin 2, the tables have turned. In the first game, you play as Source Hunters, seeking to rid the world of Source and Sourcerers. Now, you are the hunted. You play as Sourcerers who have been stripped of their power and sent away for a cure. You can create your own character or choose from existing characters with detailed origin stories. Along the way, you can recruit up to three companions and your choices will affect the relationships you have within your party.
Check out our interview to hear about some of these new features. The game releases on September 14, 2017 for PC. The PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions will be coming at a later date.
