Several Bioware forum users are claiming to have taken a survey based on the events and story of a possible Dragon Age 3 title that’s rumored to be in development. A few character-concept art screenshots were included in the original post, and were saved before they were taken down by NeoGAF. Reportedly, there are three player classes: The Rogue, Mage, and Warrior, as was the case in Dragon Age 2. Also, surprisingly, there are up to ten different companions that players are able to befriend.
As far as the story goes, the plot is set directly after the events of Dragon Age 2. With the Chantry in ruins, you finally emerge from the rubble as The Inquisitor, named after the search for the ones that caused the explosion of the Chantry, also known as The Inquisition. Your quest is now to track down these anarchists, all the while attempting to create peace among the other nations. Of course, Bioware, much like most companies, claim that they do not comment on speculation and rumors, so this all may just be an elaborate hoax.
It sounds interesting enough, and I’m a big fan of the Dragon Age series, so I sincerely hope there’s at least a DA3 in the works for us, be it tied to this information or not.
[…] Dragon Age 3 Story Rumor […]
No offense to the writer of this article, but the way you have this written makes it seem like the explosion the rumors were talking about was the one that took place in Dragon Age II which isn't the case.
If you read the rumor carefully it talks about how the explosion set to occur in DA III is supposed to be something of a sabotage attempt on a desperate attempt at peace talks which alerts theoretically the survivors that someone else is actually behind the whole Mage-Templar War thus the Inquisition is born.
Also the rumor seems to make it appear as though Orlais will be the main setting for the game.
As for the ten companions in both Dragon Age: Origins and Dragon Age II (DLC characters included) the player tends to have a total of nine at once, but at least one character is exchangeable for another at some point in the game i.e. Alistair/Loghain or Bethany/Carver.
