Ubisoft’s conference kicked off with Just Dance 2017 but was soon followed by Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon: Wildlands, switching from one tone to another. The game will be released March 7th, 2017.
The cartel trailer showed the brutal world and a look at the very serious tone the game will seem to be having. We get a nice look at a car chase fighting off a helicopter and what is presumably our Ghost Recon team ready to stop the drug cartel by any means necessary. Set in Bolivia, the game will focus on a singular drug that is used to heal people, but also to make cocaine. The world of Ghost Recon: Wildlands is a drug-filled one ruled by a drug cartel and their connection with the local government.
The game will let you play by yourself or with a four-person team. It will also be the largest open world that Ubisoft has ever made. Objectives will be achieved the way in which you decide. For the purposes of the demo, the team was shown trying to take their target tactically. The gameplay demo is above. After maneuvering through an outpost, the team hops onto a helicopter to find the target. There seems to be a heavy Metal Gear Solid V vibe with the tactical elements of the game, but also signature to the Ghost Recon experience.
