Ubisoft today showed off that they are making the first ever Star Trek VR game, called Star Trek: Bridge Crew.
During a demo for Star Trek: Bridge Crew, we got to see some stars from a couple TV shows and the newer movies in the series take a seat and actually try to handle their roles on the starship Aegis in this new VR simulator of Star Trek. Levar Burton, Karl Urban and Jeri Ryan all put on the goggles and had to work together to fly the massive ship.
Everyone has their own job to do and if one makes a mistake, it could spell doom for everyone. The game takes a lot of team work and good communication to be able to do everything that needs to be done to ensure the survival of the crew. It looks like what every hardcore Trek fan has always wanted.
The game does take place in the J.J. Abrams movie universe, which is most likely the reason gamers are not manning the USS Enterprise. However, we don’t know when in the timeline the game takes place.
Star Trek: Bridge Crew will be releasing this fall and will be supporting the Oculus Rift, HTC Vive, and the PlayStation VR.
