Bethesda’s E3 conference wasn’t really filled so much with surprises as it was great reveals of things we kind of knew was on the way. The Evil Within 2 being announced wasn’t a shock, but the release date and trailer preceding it helped raise the hype for the sequel to the 2014 horror title. The release date for the sequel will be October 13th, which is almost exactly three years after the original game released back on October 14th, 2014. You can watch the trippy trailer below.
Shinji Mikami and his team at Tango Gameworks are returning to the story of Sebastian Castellanos as he tries to bring back his daughter from a nightmare-fuelled world of terrors called Union. Expect the horrors and suspense from the previous game to be amplified with The Evil Within 2 as the story takes players on a quest for redemption amidst only the hellish of circumstances. Gameplay footage was shown today on Geoff Keighley’s E3 coverage, which you can watch below.
