Mi’pu’mi Games have announced a new adventure game set in Early 20th Century Austria called The Lion’s Song. The game’s first episode will be coming out sometime in the 2nd Quarter of 2016 for PC with 3 more coming after its initial release. The iOS and Android versions will be coming later this year.
In this episodic game, you take on the role of 4 characters – each episode will reflect what happens to one specific character – who struggle with their own creativity, human connections, and inspiration on life. These characters include a composer with writer’s block just before her breakthrough concert, a new painter who is getting through his challenges, and a female mathematician who is trying to break into the field despite it being male dominated.
According to Mi’pu’mi Games’ press release, “The choices players make in The Lion’s Song will have a direct impact on the storylines of all episodes and ultimately determine if the protagonists do find the success they are working for.”
Gregor Eigner, the producer and co-founder of Mi’pu’mi Games, explains what he wants players to experience with The Lion’s Song. He says, “I think everybody knows the nagging doubts when struggling with creativity at some point in their lives, but also the overwhelming joy when good ideas just seem to come to you magically. With The Lion’s Song we want players to explore how other creators deal with the ever-present pressure of success”
The four episodes will be released on PC, Android, and iOS. The game will also be multilingual with English, French, Italian, German, and Spanish language options. The Lion’s Song is the studio’s first independent title.
