Chris McKay, Warner’s very own animation supervisor for The Lego Movie, is already attached to direct the Batman project after initial consideration to have him helm a second Lego Movie. Author-screenwriter Seth-Grahame Smith will be building a script. Phil Lord, Roy Lee, Christopher Miller, and Dan Lin will reunite to produce.
Voiced by Will Arnett, Batman will return to the big screen sometime around the target date for The Lego Movie 2. Lego’s next film based on the property of the same name, Ninjago, will release Sep. 23rd, 2016.
In the meantime, Batman’s next adventure goes intergalactic this Nov. 11th for virtually every game system available in Lego Batman 3: Beyond Gotham, starring Troy Baker as the voice of the Dark Knight alongside Travis Willingham (Superman).
The game includes a wealth of new content via its season pass, such as an in-game tribute to Adam West’s 1960s TV series and features a Lego Stephen Amell and Kevin Smith.
Beyond Gotham releases for Playstation 4, Xbox One, Playstation 3, Xbox 360, PC, Mac OSX, Nintendo 3DS, Playstation Vita, and iOS devices.
Meanwhile, Ben Affleck takes up the cowl takes in March 2016 to fight Henry Cavill’s Superman in Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice, directed by Zak Snyder and co-starring Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor and Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman/Diana of Themyscara.
