Need more space in your Vault? Bethesda wants to help you with that.
The Fallout franchise developer says that more additions are on their way for Fallout Shelter and they include more space for your players’ burgeoning population.
Bethesda PR’s Pete Hines says that the studio has plans on building up the series’ mobile entry for the long-term and this month’s updates are just the beginning.
“The intention is that for the rest of this year and into next year and beyond, we will continue to develop new stuff for the game – and not just [enemies] deathclaws, but to continue to grow and expand the game for folks that have hit 200 people and have maxed out everything,” Hine said.” We are asking ourselves: What more can we add content wise for these people? That is definitely a big part of our plan.”
Since its surprise release this past E3 in June, Fallout Shelter‘s already made a reported $5 million in its first two weeks on the App Store. Hines, however, doesn’t expect that the lucrative mobile tie-in outsell this fall’s Fallout 4 by a longshot.
The game also released for Android devices this month. Its latest update features new enemies in the form of monstrous death claws as well as Handymen robot helpers who can defend your base and collect resources for you.
We enjoyed our time surviving Fallout Shelter, but we do wish there were more interesting goals to strive towards. We’ll have to see what Bethesda comes up with in the future, hopefully sometime soon.
In the meantime, Fallout 4 releases this Nov. 10th for Windows PC, Xbox One, and Playstation 4. It’ll also come with free mods and Fallout 3 on Xbox One. If you’re struggling to think of ways to kill the time until that fateful day, then we have a few ideas for you.
