Tor Frick, Arcade Berg, Erik Gloersen and Jonathan Heckley have set up a new studio, called Neon Giant. The developers are all known for working on the likes of Gears of War and Wolfenstein. Between the four, they have over 70 years of experience in the video game industry. However, the studio hasn’t revealed many details beyond its name.
The team has also worked on the likes of Doom and Bulletstorm, among others. Clearly, the studio has a lot of experience in the industry.
Goodbye Kansas Group
The studio is being backed by the Goodbye Kansas group. Goodbye Kansas Game Invest CEO Per-Arne Lundberg spoke about the studio, saying:
“Neon Giant consists of a real dream team that not only has enormous experience, they also have an incredibly efficient working process. I usually explain that we first and foremost invest in people, no matter how promising their game projects in development are. Neon Giant is a perfect example of this, but they coincidently also have something great in the works—I’m convinced that their first release will be a milestone in Swedish game development.”
Umbrella Studio
Goodbye Kansas has invested in a number of different studios. Alongside the new studio, they also have shares in Tarhead Studio, Fall Damage, and Palindrome Interactive. However, it is unclear whether or not they will be working together on games.
While the team at the studio is known for working on first-person shooters, but it is unclear if that’s what they’ll work on in the future. While the studio set-up and investment has been announced, not a lot of other information has been released. Because of that, very few people know what exactly the studio will be working on. We’ll keep you updated when we can.
