Fortnite: Chapter 2 Season 2 has finally arrived and with it comes some neat new additions for the massively popular battle royale title from Epic Games. Epic is renowned for introducing unique Fortnite Skins that players itch to get their hands on. We have seen Fortnite news reveal Marvel introductions previously, most famously the inclusion of Thanos a while back. Now, it’s the Merc with a Mouth‘s turn to feature in Epic Games’ Fortnite. There’s a wealth of items for you to purchase in the Fortnite shop to arm yourself with only the best Fortnite items. This secret Deadpool skin, however, may just be the most sought-after feature of the new chapter so far!
Who is Deadpool?
Deadpool is a popular character featured in the Marvel Universe, and one that will certainly be a welcome addition to Fortnite. Often dubbed the Merc with a Mouth, Deadpool is synonymous with being a character completely out of the left field when it comes to other superheroes within the Marvel landscape.
Known for his commitment to breaking the fourth wall, and pushing the boundaries of tongue-in-cheek humor mixed with violent tendencies, Deadpool has amassed a huge mainstream following, helped along in more recent years with the cinematic releases of two feature films.
Will I need the Battle Pass to Unlock Deadpool?
Players who wish to get their hands on the Deadpool skin will require the purchase of the new Fortnite Season 2 Battle Pass. By doing so, you will be able to gain access to a quest that will lead you to the coveted Marvel skin. Following his brief surprise appearance in the recent Season 2 trailer, many fans had wondered how they would be able to unlock him. Once you have purchased the Battle Pass, there is a quest for you to do to find him, and to gain access to this quest the Battle Pass will set you back 950 V-Bucks.
How do I Unlock Deadpool Features?
After you have purchased the Battle Pass, head over to the Challenge Table in the Battle Pass screen. Here, you will see an icon that showcases Deadpool’s mask. Below the mask, you will find a golden fan that you should then click on. This will take you to a hidden room in which you will find a computer, as well as a note from the character himself. Deadpool’s lair within the Battle Pass screen, found near the staircase with the blue diamond fan, is something to behold. What you will find is a bathroom that has seen better days! Once you have read the letter, you will have completed the first required challenge.
The note shows a Battle Bus design aided by a balloon in the form of Deadpool’s mask. With it reads a note that says “Dear Fortnite, I came up with a cool redesign for the battle bus. I bet my friends my good drawing arm you’d put this in the game last season. Please tell your artist my limbs are on the line and to add this right away.” The letter then signs off as “Your best friend, Wade.”
If you also want the Deadpool banner, then your next challenge is to not thank the bus driver. This may be a difficult task for the more polite players among us, but many will agree it is a small price to pay for any Fortnite-playing Deadpool fan.
There will be other challenges to unlock throughout the course of Chapter 2. Unfortunately, players will have to wait until the end of Chapter 2 until the challenges to unlock the skin are completed to unlock the Deadpool skin. In the meantime, there are many Fortnite items available to you to keep you occupied in the Fortnite shop.
