# 5 Super Mario Odyssey
Mario Bros games are always a great way to spend game time. And Super Mario Odyssey offers the most out of any Mario Bros title. It’s not a very difficult game to complete since many of the boss fights are arguably simplified. Yet, the amount of exploration offered is astounding. Locating each and every Power Moon to unlock more worlds is the true challenge of Odyssey. It can be frustrating, however finding them is always satisfying. The mechanics are mixed with nostalgic and new ones that create a perfect combo for new and returning Mario players. Anyone starting Super Mario Odyssey will enjoy a wonderful combination of music, graphics, gameplay and nostalgia.
# 4 Splatoon 2
Once Splatoon 2 hit the Switch, inklings (and Octolings) around the world have become addicted. Between the offline story mode, the Salmon Run mode and the regular online modes, Splatoon 2 has it all. With the colorful maps, goofy and stylish accessories and the hilarious shooter concept of using ink, this game is ideal for adults and children. What is extra fun is Nintendo’s support of Splatfests. During special times of the year or for the heck of it, Nintendo launches a Splatfest. Players must choose a side and fight for their team. At the end of the festival the winning team gets extra goodies. It’s a fun incentive to continue playing Splatoon.
# 3 Pokemon Let’s Go Eevee or Pikachu
Finally trainers are able to play a Pokemon game on a television screen which is set on top of a corner tv stand with mount. Let’s Go Eevee and Pikachu are incredibly fun to play. Throughout the entire game, trainers have either Eevee or Pikachu as their partner. Partners never evolve but are an incredible addition to this title. Players can interact with their partner by changing their hairstyle, petting and feeding them and watch them become an amazing asset. Traveling through the Kanto region and collecting badges is much simpler than in previous games of the Pokemon series. It’s an enjoyable experience without difficult challenges. If you are looking to purely enjoy a Pokemon game and take in the sights of Kanto then Let’s Go is for you.
# 2 Super Smash Bros Ultimate
Fighting games are always a good choice to keep in a game library. It offers a quick and fun video game to share with a friend whether they are familiar with video games or not. Super Smash Bros Ultimate truly is the ultimate game of the SSB franchise. Every single fighter that was previously featured in a past SSB game are all together in one insane one. However, one downside is that players will need to fight against the fighters in order to add them to their roster. The clear and smooth graphics appear brightly both in handheld and docked mode. The stages are plentiful and various so there is enough variety to keep every player happy. And the best part of Ultimate is the World of Light mode. Beating fighters with the aid of collective spirits and retrying stages levels up the fun and difficulty of this SSB title.
# 1 Breath of the Wild
Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is by far the best game the Nintendo Switch has to offer. Ingenious puzzles, sweet and colorful characters and the urge to discover every inch of Hyrule make this the perfect game. There is a lot to be challenged by and there is enough relaxing elements to make this game a great way to spend free time. If you are a long time fan of Zelda games or if you are diving into the series for the very first time, Breath of the Wild is a wonderful experience not to miss. The music and scenery alone are beautifully calming. Seeing Hyrule through the reawakening of Link is phenomenal. This game should be a requirement for every Switch owner’s library.
