Announced earlier today by 343 Industries, the beta for Halo 5: Guardians will start on December 29 and run through the middle of January.
The beta will consist of 4v4 arena combat matches where all players will start off with the same loadout. Overall, there will be seven maps, three modes, 11 weapons, and various armor customizations for players to experiment with during the beta.
For those on the fence about trying the beta, 343 Industries has made it more appealing by guaranteeing gamers will keep the content they unlock in the beta. For fidelity-heads, the beta promises to run at 60fps and will use dedicated servers. Along with the launch of the beta, Microsoft is also launching a Halo Channel on November 11 on Xbox One and Windows 8.1 devices. This channel is where gamers can leave their feedback on the December beta.
The Halo 5 beta will run through January 18. Those who purchase Halo: The Master Chief Collection on November 11 will have access to the beta in December. Halo 5: Guardians is set to release in the fall of 2015.
