Last week we heard about the interesting announcement to GameStop managers that the Xbox One supply which the company had secured from Microsoft had dried out and thus preorders have recently been stopped from stores across North America until Microsoft increase supply. Some may be wondering how well Sony are doing if this is the case with Microsoft and a leaked GameStop memo obtained by Game Trailers may surprise you…
The memo suggests that the company are allowing “unlimited preorders” for the PlayStation 4:
“Starting now, through this weekend [22/06/2013-23/06/2013] and until further notice, Sony has allowed us to take unlimited preorders beyond your current allotments. In other words, the floodgates are open for PS4 system reserves, we will let you know when to stop preordering based on limited quantities”.
This news comes after we reported last week that top GameStop managers had told Sony Computer Entertainment America CEO Jack Tretton that the company plans to buy “every single unit” that Sony can manufacture.
