GameStop has declared an “Anime Day” at all of their US stores to take place on February 20th.
Some anime themed games and figures will be on sale for fans to take advantage of during the event. The discounted games listed are:
Sword Art Online: Lost Song $40 (originally $60)
Dragonball Xenoverse XV $20 (originally $30)
Tales of Zestiria $30 (originally $40)
One Piece: Pirate Warriors 3 $30 (originally $40)
There is a “Buy 2 Get the 3rd 50% Off Sale” on POP! Vinyls. New POP! Vinyls will be introduced as well as pre-orders taken for the soon to be released Fairy Tail and Soul Eater POP! Vinyls. GameStop exclusive POP! Vinyl figures can be purchased on February 20th of Kurama Mode and Hollow Ichigo.
GameStop may release more sales info closer to the event or on Anime Day itself. At least the game store chain is beginning to offer some anime merchandise, although they are a bit late in the race considering Barnes and Noble has been offering various anime figures, plushies and toys through their site and physical stores for the last couple of years in America.
Still, seeing more anime merchandise readily available at retailers in the US is good news for self-proclaimed otaku!
