At Hideo Kojima’s GDC 2013 panel, The Core of MGS: Ground Zeroes, the Metal Gear Solid creator come out with his face bandaged up like Joakim Mogren. Not too long after, he debuted a new trailer for The Phantom Pain that included scenes from the Ground Zeroes trailer that came out a while back. At the end of it all, the trailer confirmed what we already suspected: The Phantom Pain is Metal Gear Solid V. Or, to be more exact, The Phantom Pain and Metal Gears Solid: Ground Zeroes together make Metal Gear Solid V.
Kojima later took off his bandages and decided to continue the panel as himself. The trailer and the gameplay demo shown shortly afterwards will be included in this story as soon as they’re released.
[Update] New trailer posted below, courtesy of GamesHQMedia, who managed to get the trailer from, presumably, the panel’s livestream.
[Update 2] Now with more gameplay!
