Update: Konami has announced that North American players will receive the same DLC mission free as well.
Original Story: Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zeroes won’t be playing favorites too much longer when it comes to exclusive content. New reports from Konami say that the game’s platform specific DLC will be available for download free of charge in its home waters of Japan.
Kojima Productions recently revealed in its latest podcast that the Deja Vu and Jamais Vu missions, formerly exclusive to Playstation and Microsoft consoles respectively, will be available for free May 1 to Japanese players. Word of a North American free download is slim. Nevertheless, it’d be surprising for a major release like Metal Gear Solid not to see international support.
In-game, the Deja Vu and Jamais Vu sequences are secret missions unlocked by collecting every XOF patch in the game’s main campaign. Deja Vu sees Snake recreating iconic scenes from the original Metal Gear Solid in grand fashion. Jamais Vu, meanwhile, shows off cyborg ninja Raiden facing down body snatchers around Ground Zeroes‘ base of Camp Omega.
