GungHo Online Entertainment has issued a press release today stating that they have acquired Grasshopper Manufacture Inc., which is led by Goichi Suda (SUDA51). Current games being developed by Grasshopper before the acquisition will continue under their current publishing deals.

Suda’s studio joins Ragnarok developer GRAVITY, Lunar and Grandia creator Game Arts, and Tenchu developer Acquire to become the fourth studio to join under the GOE umbrella. Fan’s of Suda51 games have nothing to fear, since all titles published by GOE are published and supported by GungHo Online Entertainment America.
Terms of the deal were not disclosed, but more information on upcoming Grasshopper projects will be revealed in the coming months.
