Sucker Punch’s inFAMOUS: Second Son isn’t due out until next year, but that hasn’t stopped the revealing of the Limited and Collector’s Editions for the game. If anything, this early reveal just gives you more time to decide if you want to pre-order them or not.
Starting with the $59.99 Limited Edition that consumers are treated to if they pre-order the game soon enough, this edition features a premium foil, box art cover and new playable DLC, titled Cole’s Legacy, that fills in the gap between the end of inFAMOUS 2 and inFAMOUS: Second Son. This content won’t be available as a separate purchase when the game launches and is only offered as part of the Limited and Collector’s Edition.
Description from the PlayStation Blog: “Cole MacGrath’s actions in New Marias set in motion a chain of events leading to the now forceful occupation of Seattle by the oppressive Department of Unified Protection. Cole’s Legacy bridges this gap in time with a series of missions Delsin Rowe must complete that reveal unique insights into how the world of inFAMOUS Second Son came to be.”
Meanwhile, the $79.99 Collector’s Edition comes with a few more goodies, in addition to the Cole’s Legacy DLC. Not only do you get an alternate box art cover, but the Collector’s Edition also includes a new in-game vest, Delsin’s beanie to keep your head warm, a set of pins, vinyl decals, and a DUP patch that I’d probably sew onto the beanie.
I imagine the Limited Edition won’t be around for very long, so if you really want to know what came as a result of Cole’s action, maybe pre-order sooner than later? Although, it’ll probably be it’s own separate download at some point.
inFAMOUS: Second Son is due out February 2014.
