We only recently heard about Injustice 2 actually being a thing and that it would be arriving on PS4 and Xbox One in 2017. However, Ed Boon is doing the marketing circuit as he promotes the next fighting game from NetherRealm Studios. At the Mortal Kombat X Pro League Season 3 Finals, Boon revealed the first gameplay footage of Injustice 2 in action.
The footage featured some of the newly announced characters such as Gorilla Grodd, Atrocitus and Supergirl. I’m not extremely familiar with the DC Universe, but other characters seen in the trailer included Batman, Superman, Aquaman, and… Black Manta? I’m fairly certain thats who was manhandling Aquaman in the footage. You get a great look at Atrocitus throwing Supergirl through a wall and performing a devastating environment transition as she gets hit by a van and then flies through a train. I’m sure we can expect plenty of great environment transitions like what was previously offered in Injustice: Gods Among Us.
It also showed off some of the slick gear that characters will be able to utilize, making everyone just seem a little bit more competent in the defense department. I’m still very curious to see what will happen with the customizable gear options available to characters and whether it will be purely cosmetic, as well as how robust it will be.
You can expect to see more of Injustice 2 when E3 2016 rolls around in the next couple days. Stay tuned to BagoGames for more news on the fighting game and more!
