Kemco’s turn-based RPG Revenant Saga had physical PS4 and PS Vita editions released last week from Limited Run Games. It was originally released in 2014 for the aforementioned platforms, along with Nintendo Wii U, IOS, Android, PC, and Mac.
The story of Revenant Saga follows Albert, a young boy who takes part in a scientific experiment in an attempt to find a cure for a strange plague that has afflicted his friend’s parents. However, something goes wrong in the process and a demon ends up co-inhabiting Albert’s body. Realizing this is the fault of the man who ran the experiment, Albert sets off an epic journey of revenge.
Revenant Saga features an over-world done in a 2D pixel art style with battles that are done in a roughly styled 3D. On the whole, the graphical style here evokes memories of Sega Saturn RPGs such as Albert Odyssey and Panzer Dragoon Saga.
The Limited Run Games physical releases of Revenant Saga were released February 23. At the writing of this article, the Vita version has already sold out, while copies of the 4,000 available PS4 copies still remain in stock. The game currently holds a 51% rating on Metacritic, though this is based on only four reviews. It is unknown if there will be a second print.
