The original Killzone is getting an HD makeover re-release as part of the upcoming Killzone Trilogy, a collection that contains all three of the actual Killzone games released so far (sorry Killzone: Liberation fans, all four of you) in one gorgeous looking box. But what if you already own Killzones 2 and 3 and just want the HD version of the original Killzone? Gotta trade up and get the whole pack, right?
Wrong! The official US PlayStation blog has revealed that Killzone HD will be available as part of the Killzone Trilogy pack, but also as a standalone download off of the PSN Store. And it’s exactly the same as the retail version, too. You still get all of the trophies, the 720p, 30fps graphics and the bot-filled multiplayer standing in for actual multiplayer that you would have gotten if you re-bought the two games you probably already own(ed). Pretty great and considerate of Sony, no?
Killzone HD will launch on October 23rd as part of both the Killzone Trilogy and its own separate download; for $14.99 or £11.99. In the meantime, why not take a look at some screenshots of those new High Definition graphics in closer detail?
