Last week at the Tokyo Game Show, Square-Enix announced the existence of Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 ReMIX (rather awful title, especially for spell checkers, I’m sure you’re all aware); a collection of HD remakes of some of the games in the Kingdom Hearts series. Those games being Kingdom Hearts 1 Final Mix, Kingdom Hearts: Chain Of Memories and an HD-ifying of the cutscenes of Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days (due to it being a DS title, natively). There was no trailer at the time, but now that the show’s wrapped up, there is. Right there, under the headline.
Now, it’s in Japanese, obviously, but don’t let that put you off! Instead, bask in the beauty of some of the best looking HD-ifying of a last-gen game since, arguably, Rez HD! Be surprised by just how accurate Japanese Donald sounds! Let the waves of nostalgia swim over your body as you remember how you played the original Kingdom Hearts a decade ago and sweet Maker don’t you just feel old? Also, can I just express my opinion that the main Kingdom Hearts theme is absolutely amazing and on a par with some of the best music that Final Fantasy has ever done?
Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 ReMIX will be released on Japanese PS3s in early 2013. No word on a Western release but, like I said last time, it can’t be too far behind, right? …right?
